Would you like to build your own version of the famous B & S Cycle Car, complete with motor wheel? With chassis and axles of wood, metal parts are kept to a minimum. Many "off the shelf" parts are utilized for simplicity and appearance. Some welding is required on motor wheel.

This slim little, self-contained, power unit attaches with 2 simple brackets. The only other "hook-up" is the throttle cable. This allows the unit to be attached to other devices of your choice.
Powered by a 5-1/2 hp Briggs & Stratton engine, this little buckboard utilizes a centrifigal clutch for ease of driving.. For reverse, your left leg is put to use! Accelerates up a 4% grade with a 450 lb payload!
It's simplistic design attracts attention by all who see it. Only a few days after the above photos were shot, the "Motor Wheel Cycle Car" was driven in the Cottonwood Annual Christmas Parade.
Inspired by the 1920 Briggs & Stratton Cycle Car, the motor wheel was designed for easy building The wheels are bicycle size (26"), Many "off the shelf" parts are used to keep costs down. Each rear wheel is equipped with external band, drum brake. A foot pedal, by way of an equalizer, applies equal stopping power to each rear wheel.
Plans consist of 82 8-1/2 X 11 pages that includes over 60 "A" size drawings of every part on the car. Many color photographs explain several sub-assemblies. The text describes the procedures of building and assembly. Includes 3 pages listing where each purchased part can be acquired. This is presented in PDF format. You can down load, store and print out the entire "manual," for reference or only the page you're interested in at the time.
