How to build a

Simulated Ford Quadricycle

Available for FREE download

Have you ever watched in envy when a parade went by and you saw entries of antique cars, midget cars etc. and you didn't have one. Well here's the answer — build your own for a fraction of the cost you would pay for the real thing, even if you could find one for sale!

Picture of finished carriage

Originally painted red, we made it look more "Ford" with black paint.

Powered by a 5 1/2 hp lawn mower engine, this little buggy rips around the neighborhood at 15 mph. It utilizes a hydrostatic transmission which affords an infinite ratio of forward speeds plus a reverse and dynamic braking. A parking brake is provided for safe parking and starting.

It gets attention by all who see it — definitely a parade entry anywhere! If they aren't looking — give a blast of your air horn! An excellent Shriner's vehicle!

Inspired by Henry Ford's Quadricycle, it has coil springs on the front axle instead of leaf springs. The wheels are bicycle size (26"), Many "off the shelf" parts are used to keep cost down.

Cost to build is about the same as a large radio controlled model airplane only you can ride in it when finished!

Plans consist of 116 - 8 1/2 X 11 pages  that include 100 "A" size drawings of every part on the car. Four pages of photographs explain several sub-assemblies. Text describes many facets of small car design and building. Includes 3 pages listing where each purchased part can be acquired.
